Team Strategy
Here we can discuss anything related to general team strategy. For example, I think we should focus on the following in priority order:
1. Zone Defense
2. Zone Offense
3. Endzone Offense
4. Horizontal (Man) Offense
To work on the zone offense, i think we need to learn other zones, ones that our opponents might play. For example, Cornell runs a 4-man cup. We should learn this cup, never play it in a game, but get good enough at it so that we can practice against it. This will ensure no surprises come UPAs.

team trap-zone adjustments
MJ, I like your priorities. Zones will be the key to winning tourneys.
I really think that we won the finals because we were all on the same page on where people needed to be. That being said, we were not perfect. Even during the big comeback. But I do feel it was the first time we started to get a concrete idea of where we need to be.
That is;
-force opponent into trap.
-mark becomes dump cover, monster becomes mark, and the swing (or line) becomes the upfield punt preventer, and also covers the line crash.
- depending on this line coverage (ie. how tight the punt preventer stays to the disk in the trap), will affect how the others mids react.
-in the finals, when bomber (trap-side mid) dropped back, which pulled Richie away from the disk in the punt preventer, Ernie (mid-mid) was required to crash much tighter to the disk. Duncan (the far-side mid) was covering the cross field pass. This leaves the over the middle, cross field pass open. This is where Bomber now has to do the work of the side mid and the mid-mid (which he did beautifully), and Richie prevented the curl pass around him when he played with depth.
- AND Jones shut the fucking door with the deeps. Yes Jones.
*this was the adjustment we mad because of what their offense dictated us to do, and different offenses will require different shifts, but this is the sort of chalk talk that I would love to get into more.
Sorry if I don't make sense up there. I may even be wrong, but this is the type of X and O stuff that I feel we have got to be comfortable with talking about in order for us to be as sharp as possible.
Excited about our team. We have a wide range of talent. Lets make sure we develop it quick, because I want to win.
