Trouble in Vegas - Feb 6-8

Post  Admin on Mon Nov 24, 2008 12:02 pm

Boys -

I need to know ASAP so that we can start planning if people are interested in attending Trouble in Vegas. This IS the largest College Ultimate tournament in the world, and one of the largest general ultimate tournaments. All of the top teams from across North America will be there, including Carleton College, Wisconsin, and everyone that will be at Nationals. It's a 3 day tournament with lots of really competitive games that can offer an incredible gauge early in the season.

We would leave earlier in the week (say the 4th, Wed- negotiable) and return the 8th, Sun.

The total cost per person would be $710 (includes flight, team fee, bus to airports, hotel, car rental...yes i took the time to research it). So the only thing on top of that is food. It is expensive but I think we can get down to $600 a person (at least) from fundraising.

If we attend this we will not attend North Carolina and the rest of the tournaments will be much cheaper and closer.

I just want to say too, in the past we attended tournaments such as Standford Invite, and it was one of my best ultimate experiences ever. Just an amazing weekend with great team bonding, and so many incredible memories.

So, please post here if you can attend. We will only go if we get at least 12 guys. We need to know in the next two weeks so that we can start booking.

hey dudes,

i went to this tournament last year. it was an awesome time and not too expensive because flights to vegas are subsidized, plus when we won it we won some money which we used to pay for our trip. It has better competition than NC (almost all the good college teams go to this tournament) and all in all would probably require less travelling hours. Try your best to attend this tournament. If its money thats an issue get some for christmas and use it for flights, or go sell you virgin assholes on montreal street. Do what you have to do. this would be a great way to kick off your spring season

plus, its vegas baby, if you havent been you need to go

my two cents for whats its worth

This is too perfect. I'm already in Vegas for a conference the weekend before the tourney, so count me in. I'll already have my flight arranged.

I'd be down for it... pending any labs, exams etc. that can't be moved. I will look into conflicts the first week next semester

So far the below people can go.

Also, i've gotten more information from the tournament and because of cheaper hotels and flights, and no need to rent a car, we can do it for $500. This is a great deal, especially for Vegas. But we need to book now. So who else is in?

I really want to, as long as I can secure funding. I'll find out what the deal is with that.

Sorry, guys, have to say no on this one. I think North Carolina would be the better tournament to go to since there will be a greater chance for us to play teams that we'll face in sectionals/regionals at this tournament as suppose to vegas. Yes, there might be more top teams in vegas than in Carolina but we might not be in the same pools as those top teams at vegas. However, if we go to North Carolina, we are gaurenteed to play top teams as long as we keep winning games. and lets face it, North Carolina is better because it's by the beach. and wherever there's beach, there're _____. (Ernie's way of pulling people to the 'no' side).
